A view from North of the Border...:(:(

1. Flower of Scotland doesn't sound right on any other instrument than the pipes

But seriously on the game

The best team (by a country mile) won. Scotland were poor in every department but especially our defence.

Man of the match probably had to go to Johnnie Wilkinson - but I thought Harry Ellis at No. 9 had a tremendous game.

Whether or not Wilkinson's right foot touched the line for his "try" doesn't really matter, he deserved to be given it for the way he tried to score it.

Most Scots hate Johnnie Wilkinson but only because he really is too good. But I have to say I do admire him. Three years ago he was being tipped to be the next "Beckham". Since then he has had injury after injury. I cannot remember hearing him complaining too much - he just got on with his job and got fit.

I don't think that England should get too carried away with this result and/or win - given the old maxim that you can only beat the team in front of you - they were up against poor opposition on the day.

Finally, the posers, divers and cheats of the Premiership should look at the effort put in by all who played today. Rugby remains a mans' game where physical contact is accepted. It can be brutal - but the guys just get on with it. Wilkinson was an example to all today - did anyone see him shirk out of anything - Well done son

Ah well - here's to the next game
