So happy for them that they are building it "from the foundations up", be an absolute phucker of a job pouring the concrete for the footings after the building is up...

You have the pool right outside your door. Jump in from your terrace (ground floor only     ;))

This was the view from ours in Thailand the other year - the bar just within reach    :)

Just hope that this time they make adequate provision for the disposal of waste sewage. Seemingly, the Sensatori have been fined 80k tl for allowing / pumping into the sea  :o

Its no good just fining them, the authorities should shut them down until they have sorted the problem out.  We will not be going to the beach anywhere along the Calis 'Bay' area for the remainder of this year.  I am sure there are a lot of tourists who won't be coming back any time soon due to this problem.

I love swimming in the sea but will NOT be doing it again this year... Another nail in the coffin for me... Lets hope that Thomsons can fill any hotel after this weeks revelations on The News channels over here....

I read a complaint on T.A. about the Sensatori swim up rooms.  Some guy who had paid extra for one, said  that you can swim up to nothing, there is just some water around the bedrooms that you swim around in... Also the guy further complained that he was with his family and the room had no door on the bathroom/toilet.

You swim up to your balcony Jacqui. That's why they call them swim ups. What did he expect - a private bar and water slide?

As for toilet doors. Many hotels leave them off now and I have been to a few where you can see into the shower as well. Not really suitable for family rooms though I admit.
Title: Re: Another new Five Star Hotel going up
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on August 13, 2015, 09:41:58 AM
I think he expect to swim up somewhere else and not just swim around a small area outside his balcony. He, apparently, had stayed at these resorts before, so I expect he knew what he was talking about.
A girl my daughter works with was at the Sensatori near Calis and said her and her husband paid 50 euros per day to use the large sunbeds the resort has...She had not been to Turkey before, so probably thought this was the norm.

50 euros a day - must be mad!!!!!
Title: Re: Another new Five Star Hotel going up
Post by: stoop on August 13, 2015, 17:44:38 PM
I've been to hotels and had a swim up room before as well - so I know what I'm talking about too.

Basically you have a room, which has a balcony, which has an entrance to a pool. You can get in the water and 'swim up' to your balcony.

If you are lucky (like we were) you might get a bar to swim to and have a drink. However anyone booking the Sensatori Fethiye can see from the pictures that this is not the case at this hotel.

By large sunbeds do you mean the cabanas? I understand they are 50 euros a day and come with your own waiter. I think they hold a few people and I don't think it's 50 euros per person but per cabana.

Each to their own I guess but to me if it was available for four adults then I might just give it a go if I was there.

Great swim up facilities and beach when we stayed at El Dorado Casitas Royal in Mexico, you had waiter service to your room and swim up bars dotted all around the swim ups, on the beach you had beach bars and waiter service for food and drinks and no extra charge for this or for the double beach beds. I've walked around the Sensatori and believe me, they are not in the same league.

Stoop - you said

"Basically you have a room, which has a balcony, which has an entrance to a pool. You can get in the water and 'swim up' to your balcony. "

I guess you would have to "swim up" - isn't a balcony something that projects from somewhere "upstairs"?

Still, you do say you know what you're talking about.

I remain unconvinced.
Title: Re: Another new Five Star Hotel going up
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on August 13, 2015, 20:37:21 PM
Yes, but the guy on T.A. said he had nothing to swim up to.  The small amount of water lead to knowhere.  I know that swim up rooms usually have a pool attached to them.  This one did not and the guy was cross because he paid extra for it.
Also, those Sunbeds ARE  50 euros per day. This is what the girl working with my daughter told her.   I already knew because there was a complaint about them on the Sensatori F.B. page. The person said that she thought going AI included this sunbeds which cost 50 Euros per day and also she complained that one restaurant charged 20 euors each to get into.  I noted her post was deleted.  They don't like posts like that on the Sensatori F.B. page. This was before I got thrown off there too.
I am surprised you are defending them Stuart particularly as they pumped out all that sewage next to Koca Calis.

Ooh - a misunderstanding.

Certainly not defending them. Perish the thought - I feel quite the opposite.

Just questioning the idea of a swim up pool to a "balcony" - how?

Balconies are high up there things.

Stoop is one of the few of us that joined the Sensatori F.B. page to still be a member, most of us got kicked off.
He must be doing something right   :)
As a recent T.A. member reported he paid £4,500 for two people for two weeks.  If I paid  that I would expect a shower room door.

Its the €50 per day for a cabana that I cant understand folks paying for. Bakrak's are free when you buy food or/and drink. And by the way, I've been booted off AND banned permenantly from Sensatori group today, I guess for having the audacity to mention Cadianda Tours and Karacay jeeps. Let's hope the power crazy admin Sonia Calvert ???  isn't the admin on the new Sensimar hotel too or no one will be allowed an opinion unless its hers  :o

Wow! Just wow!

I reply to a moan about swim up rooms and suddenly I'm defending Sensatori!

I've done swim ups and I cannot see the problem with the ones they are advertising and selling. Anyone who does should simply not pay for them. Those who have never had one should butt out!

As for Mrs Harvey - yes I might be doing something right - I'm not commenting on things I know bugger all about p ;)

"Buffet breakfast and lunch in main restaurant. Dinner included in 4 of the 6 eateries. You can pay a bit more for meals in the other 2 restaurants, too.  Locally-produced drinks from morning until midnight. You can also pay extra for international-brand drinks.  Snacks at set times."

Not hard to understand?

Quackers, Sorry, but if I was paying £4,500 for two weeks in this AI.  I would expect it to be AI.    50 euros per day for a sunlounger is excessive to say the least and 20 Euros each to enter a restaurant is a joke.
I note that some visitors think the same way due to the complaints I have read about these charges.

Stoop, As for doing something right to stay on their website.  Toky gave advise about tours.(not run by the resort) She also asked the tourists staying there not to go outside and bother the turtles.   I gave advise about visitng Calis beach and booking tours there and changing money at a better rate. I think Toky and I both know all about these things.  So, why ban us?    The woman who works with my daughter and visited the resort last week, asked my daughter why I had left the F.B. Pages as she was enjoying my advise.  She was surprised to hear I had been banned.
The Sensatori Fethiye F.B.Page is totally sanitized and allows only good reports about Fairyland.  They want to keep their inmates inside the gilded cage and not let them find out about the real world.
As for the Ms Calvert and John McConkey who run the F.B. Pagesl They both say they are not an official Hotel group but an info group to help you build up excitement,  but why would anyone run 6 F.B. pages for free and monitor them like the Gestapo!!   They both take holidays in these resorts all the time (wonder what they pay?)  Also, by complete coincidence, Ms Calvert is a Marketing Director. :o    Also strange that McConkey joined CBF under cover to big the place up.   ;)

If I get any beers I'll let you know but I don't think anyone who I gave advice to will be there or even know me from Adam.

I will going to have nosey but the 'free beer over the wall' was a little joke.  I don't think I really need free beer thanks. I can afford to buy my own. I don't even know if there's a wall either ;-)

And the reason I am still on the Sensatori site is probably because I have not been s h i t stirring like some on here and FB who have nothing better to do.

Enjoy your weekend - I know I will

It's not totally sanitised actually. There was a big argument the other day about someone expecting waiter service around the pool and another about a couple asked to leave a bar as it was adult only and they had kids with them.

So they allow complaints but in the most they don't allow trouble makers to ruin their page. A bit like most forums actually.

Ha ha Colwyn!

It's like the old sign at Guvens - "free beer tomorrow".

Rest assured if anyone passes a beer over the "wall" I will be on here like a shot  :)

Anyway - back on topic - another new hotel! Shall I start "promoting" it now or wait until the drearies start moaning again?

Such decisions  ;)

Jacquı it may be expensıve but those people who have booked know how much everythıng is and they are happy to pay ıt. Its theır choice. If they dont want to pay ıt they would not go on holıday there. I think ıts expensıve for trips ,cabanas etc and word seems to be gettıng around ın the Hotel about cheaper optıons for trips and places to dıne out of the Hotel.

Stoop I do not think the members like me, Loz and Toky are trouble makers or sh@t stirrers.  We answered questions that were asked.  We were banned for giving honest answers that there are places to book tours and visit outside the resort etc.,  I hardly think that Toky warning about the Turtles was sh@t stirring.
Do you really think all Forums run the same as the Sensatori one?   I think there would be nothing left on CBF if Scunner decided to delete posts he did not like or did not put Calis in the best light.
I think you are leading a charmed life with the Sensatori Forum and I hope you will receive your just rewards for being a model member.

This posting was on T.A. from a man staying at the Sensatori...would you say he was a sh@t strirrer with nothing better to do or just someone wanting to make a point and not being allowed too ??
-------------------------------------------
Yes I can testify that the facebook group set up by two people do not like any negative comments. I got removed from the group because I asked why the hotell is charging for sitting in the Cabana at the rate of 50 Euro a day when we have paid so much for the all incusive in August! First the guy came back and said: "No one is forcing you to get it!" When I came back and said technically I am forced to pay as part of the set up when I bought the holiday I was looking forward to sitting in one of those Cabana at least once during our 10 days stay? His response was to remove me from the group...

---------------------------------------------------

Quackers, you will see from the above that some people booked and paid a lot of money thinking they would not be paying extras.

How bloody dare you Stoop make comments like that. If you are referring to me about being a **** stirrer, you'll have a lot of explaining to do.  The only reason I suggested trips outside of Sensatori was because a customer had asked what was available outside the resort for trips. Nothing to do with **** stirring . So I sincerely hope I'm wrong in my assumption  Stoop.

I have the right to an opinion like everyone else. Some people have gone on that site purely to stir it up. They know who they are and I do not have to tell them.

I have no idea why you were banned and to be honest I'm not remotely interested.

If you were banned for suggesting trips outside Sensatori then I should have been banned well before you as I've recommended many places to go to away from the hotel.

This is my last post on this particualr thread as I'm gettinig tired of the bickering and have better things to do with my time.

Yes but some of us dared to say that there were companies other than Thomson's that ran these trips.  We did not stop at just describing the places the Sensatori Thomson's tours took the guests to.
I had the nerve to answer a question from a member who asked were there any other place for a Turkish Bath outside the resort.  I names 3 places includng two Hotels in Calis.  I had a private mail from Sonia tellng me I was not allowed to mention names of other Hotels and not to do it again.  My post was deleted.
Keep on defending them Stoop, you will stay on their F.B. Pages.  I am sure they are reading all the posting on here and are pleased that you are rubbishing CBF members and only have good words for their resort.
My last words too, but I think CBF members will know the score by now.  :-X  ;)

If you honestly think I defend the hotel then you need to learn to read.

What I will defend is people's right to holiday in whatever place they wish and if this happens to be an AI Sensatori ( which you seem to hate for some reason) then so be it.

Also going back to you idiotic notion that they do nothing for the local economy. Try telling that to Max at Koca Calis Beach Bar and Defne Pension (and others I'm sure) who have both received lots of extra custom from the staff who stay in the new accommodation block - mostly English as well.

Il reiterate - the reason I am still on there is that I do not deliberately go on to stir things up. I do not defend the hotel at all. If they are causing problems then I will complain through the correct channel (as I did with the staff accommodation block and the problems it caused) not some FB page set up by a couple of Sensatori fanatics.

C.1.   Koca Calis is not getting a good press these days.   I am sure it must have some good points??
However, I remember 11 years ago when we were looking for a property, the Estate Agent in Fethiye advised us not to look at Koca Calis because it was built on a swamp and very damp.   We took his advise although we knew nothing about the area, but, it seems it was true.

Well, I for one, love Koca Calis. It has a village-like atmosphere and the beach clubs each have their own unique atmosphere -- I much prefer them to Calis Beach (though I like the prom). I'd like to have a definitive report on water analysis both at Koca Calis and Calis beach which is only a short distance away. Where could one obtain this?
