Title: Hi All. bit personal
Post by: jackstee on July 13, 2020, 21:07:27 PM
Sorry to post this, but looking for some help, maybe.
Kieth, if you think this should be deleted then carry on.

Is there any agency that I can talk to.
My partner and wife of 47 years passed away in December after 8 months in a coma.
Jackie's dog passed away the other week after 18 years.
I have a problem being motivated for anything now.
I know I need a kick up the A-s , sorry but Being an EX military man and always being OK I now feel like a very small child, its beyond me.
Please
No nasty reply's.
Thanks
Steve.

The first thing you need to do is stop beating yourself up. You have experienced some of lifes most traumatic experiences and it’s okay to feel lost, down and any one of many other emotions, you are grieving. I’m glad you have felt able to voice how you are feeling and I’m sure people will be kind to you.  Please give yourself time and try to just let yourself be at the moment. There will come a time when you will start to feel more yourself but until then be kind to yourself, please let us know how you are, take care.

I am sorry for your loss. :( :( :(

I do not have an answers for you I'm afraid. All I would say is that probably the one thing that got me through the loss of our daughter at 36 was the certain knowledge that she would have wanted us to grieve but to move on and live life in her memory.

I feel sure that is what your dear wife would want you to do.

Take care and I hope you find someone that you can talk to.

Steve, really sorry to hear about Jackie passing, it doesn't seem that long ago I saw you both in Umbrella Street.

It can't have been easy for you especially with the coronavirus lockdowns as well.

Perhaps try some of the walking groups as a way back into getting out and about and making connections with some new people and or maybe you could consider fostering a dog for the animal charity.

I hope you find a way to cope with your situation and both Dogan and I are really very sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I’m sure everyone feels different in situations like this but difficult though it may be, perhaps going out and meeting people would help.  The worst thing you can do is lock yourself away.  You need to get out and talk to people.  I’m sure it won’t be easy but, I’m sure it will help.  I hope you feel better soon.  God Bless.

Sorry for your loss. My advice would be the same as Keith's - talk, talk, talk. People will reply and help but I've always found that if you don't ask that many will shy away from those who have lost loved ones. Human nature I guess - because none of us want to say the wrong thing.

Keep talking.

Hello Steve I’m so sorry to read your sad news and to hear how your feeling which is completely understandable, there is nothing worse then losing a precious loved one in this life, are there maybe any online like bereavement counseling groups you could join and see if that helps you, like everyone else says keep talking sometimes that’s the hardest step to make to admit how your feeling...
You were so kind to me re the vape chargers before, we’d  be more then happy to meet up and have that coffee we couldn’t last time when we finally get over hopefully soon...take care

Well, its now been one year, on the 5th.
One person helped me get it, and my apartment together.
I think that this has already been discussed before but cant find it.
As I don't think I have ever met any of you yet, I will take the plunge.
I am sure that some of the single persons here use a dating site.
Could you kindly message me if you have found  good one.
Thanks
