Trip to Kas
« on: March 18, 2011, 23:26:15 PM »
Six of us went on a trip to Kas. My other half went Diving I went out on the boat just as a bubble watcher, then we did a bit of shopping and went for a nice meal down by the harbour. Next day Terry went diving again but me and the others went to Demri to see the Church of St Nicholas and nice lunch out. Was a lovely trip.

This was taken from the bus window on the way

Can't smile wide enough, loves his Diving

We are also planning a 2/3 day trip. Can you tell me name of hotel and did it have access to the sea....ie...like a pontoon , steps direct to sea.

Did you take the bus or drive to Kas

Regards

Patty

Thanks  Guys. we hired a mini bus between the six of us, but I can't remember the name of the hotel.
You see we had joined some friends round at the Almina and we were all sitting round the pool having a drink and Terry my other half happened to mention that he had heard that the diving was good in Kas.
Well that was it before we knew it one of the barman had a cousin or a brother that worked at a dive centre (they have always got family somewhere lol) and he could arrange for us to hire a bus stay at a hotel and  for Terry to do some diving.
It was all done over the phone and agreed there and then as is typical in Turkey.
But everything worked out perfect, we had a wonderful couple of days, the diving was great and it was all done at such a reasonable cost too.
So sorry Patty but I will see if any of the others remember the name.
It didn't have a pontoon into the sea though, we were across the road from the sea front, but for a couple of days it was fine and it had a nice pool. :)

It's worth taking your passport & some Euro's with you too - the Greek island of Meis is only 30 mins away by boat.
A pretty little place - lovely to look round for a few hours - the "cubist" buildings are totally different to the Turkish style & it always amazes me there isn't a solar panel/water tank in sight when you sail into the harbour, unlike Turkey where it is the norm!
The added bonus is there is a Duty Free "shed"  :)
