Title: Rindy the chicken was lush
Post by: busybee on January 27, 2009, 21:17:44 PM
Cooked the whole chicken in the slo cooker Rindy, had lots of carnival meetings of late so have been an extra busy bee!!  Came home chicken done to perfection, so moist. We had the breast and hubby took the bones out and its gone back in with mushroom soup and lots of veg for casserole tommorow!!! No messy orrible roasting to tin to wash either. Thanks for that tip.

Nothing to know really.  I just said you can bung a chicken with no fluids into a slow cooker and it turns out really good.  YOu can put it on a bed of veg, the juices come out of the chicken and it is delicilous.  I also put the bones back into the slow cooker after the meal with some water to make a stock for later use...

~Really glad you liked it Barbara.  Not sure if I mentioned it, but I made a fantastic curry in it last week too...

Just one thing, I wouldn't recommend putting the lid in the dishwasher as I believe it makes the knob brittle.  It doesn't get dirty anyway, so it's not a problem.

I use a brillo pad on my knob and even after all these years it's still quite pliable

There must be a Mr Muscle for this type of thing, please don't stick your knob in the dishwasher folks, or any kitchen appliance. It's not big and it's not funny. Well it might be big, who knows.
