Title: Thor is gone
Post by: cenk on July 09, 2010, 15:32:03 PM
I am having problem on the channels of the Thor satellite. Satellite man says it is a general problem and we have to wait. Is there anyone who is having the same problem, and is there a way to sort it ?

New codes needed to unscramble channels.

If we take our box into where we bought it the man decodes it for free. If we ask him to come to our house it is still only 20ytl.

Problem is, satellite man says it is not possible to take them back nowadays. I want to know if there is someone who can watch thor channels at the moment (All Discovery channels, Hallmark, Animal Planet, All National Geographic channels etc.)

As far as I know dreambox is working on internet. What will happen in case of ADSL cuts ?

Cenk, yes dreambox runs through your internet modem. If your adsl cuts, you can only get ITV, Channel 4 and news channels.I don't know why we still receive these channels....we just do. ;)

Thanks for the answer. It could be a good idea to buy one, where there is a proper internet service. But TTNET service is rubbish here.

It seems they wont come back. I get same answers as Des got. Fed up and connected Digiturk, for 14.9 TL per month. It has the channels that I want. Premier leauge and other higher packages are free for a month.

Dream box works even up here in Uzumlu and we have worse internet reliability than Fethiye.
We get Digiturk for free, Nilesat, Astra and so many more inc ITV, Sky Sports and Sky Premier films. To be honest there is so much choice you could never get bored.
If internet drops out you can still get a few free channels on Nilesat mostly the MBC channels but we can't get ITV if the ADSL goes down. We only tend to loose it during storms.
We've had it now for a year and are very pleased with it. Ours is on a 1.5mt dish.
Sat watching the ITV news as I type...:D

Out after 3 months and we still have quite a few channels on Thor but some are scrambled. Enough for just now so will get them descrambled when we come back in December

Corbindallas....you are asking a woman that question...I haven't a clue, a little man set it up....lol
One of them is Eurobird/Astra2A/2B/2C/2D(28.2E)that one we get ITV, Sky sport and Sky film, travel and discovery and hundreds more.
WE have another 3 dishes on the roof which are all in different directions to pick up other satellites.

not sure what limitations a goldmaster box has, but should be able to tune to the free to air channels on nilesat (MBC, Foxmovies etc..).
The encrypted one's will have gone but can't see why free channels won't be viewable.
