I have on good authority that the red Sava in Carrefour at 6.50tl a bottle is palatable - don't drink red myself

My wife drinks red wine, and she also finds the Sava from Carrefour "drinkable", and yes it's only 6.50 tl (less than 3 quid a bottle - result!!!). :)

Liz,sounds good but I've given up on palatable LOL after chucking three Turkish red wines and a Turkish white wine of good prices away after they've gone off or discoloured. They don't seem to age, just go off and before you say drink quicker,I'll beat you to it LOL. So personally I prefer to pay more for an imported wine (never chucked one away yet)and when Kipa had 50% off on the above mentioned I stocked up. There is a palatable "Idol" Turkish wine around about 8TL for anyone that likes Red,(not for you) Cabernet,Sauvignon,Merlot mix and I have on good authority that Tinx has access to a nice supply of wine.

FYI for every 50TL you spend , you can buy minced meat for 5TLx1kg... however money spent on alcohol does not apply.

A little tip on how to improve a bottle of cheap red wine - give the bottle a good shake to aeriate the wine then let it settle, it should improve the wine. Don't do this with a good bottle. Only works with red wine not white.
Worth a try.
