As a single traveller I prefer to use a shuttle (unless I hire a car) as the cost of a private transfer for 1 tends to be a bit ott.
I had a shuttle booking with www.transfer4cheap.com which was confirmed by email with a print off voucher then I got an email to say sorry, we have no room on the bus, this on the day I travel!
Have just booked with www.transferonly.com for £18 return, will update this after I've done the return journey to let you know how it went. Having spoken to the lady on the phone (via Skype to a UK number at no cost to me) this always puts my mind at rest instead of an email booking, even in this modern age of electronic communication!
Goodbye Brighton, hello Calis, mine's an Efes!
-
That's transfer4cheap of my list then. Thanks for the heads up.
-
He'll probably end up on the same bus as he booked initially :D
-
Probably Keith but at least I'll have a confirmed seat & enjoyed a nice chat with an Irish lady in Marmaris to boot!

Not to be confused with Tranfers4U
http://www.transfers4u.com/
with whom both myself, friends & family have used many times & can highly recommend for transfers if travelling alone - less than £15.00 for return transfer from Dalaman airport to the Fethiye area - part of the Thomas Cook group.

Interesting - I never thought of such a transfer booking
How does it work?
Do they have a kiosk in Dalaman Airport or do they display a board similar to the regular transfer drivers?
Whereabouts do they drop you off (say in Calis) is to your door or whatever
On the return leg where will they pick you up (in Calis)?
I could not find a one-way option - is there one?
Regards
Bob

Most "shuttle transfer" will drop you at a hotel only. They are not allowed to drop you off or pick you up from a private apartment/villa.
I have used "Shuttle transfers" when travelling alone, purely for cost reasons. The first time I was the only person on the flight that had booked a shuttle transfer to Calis. The driver was waiting for me at the bottom of the ramp as promised. He took me straight to our apartment and it was the same driver who came back for me to take me back to Dalaman. Door to door service at a fraction of the cost of a private transfer. However, this was purely a "one off" the second time I booked they would only drop me and pick up at the Pelin Hotel, as there were a number of people travelling on the same shuttle service. No big deal because it is only a five minute walk to our apartment from there. Not sure if there is a one way option but I would imagine it is possible to book just one way.

Thanks for the information mibur - think I will give it a go next time I am back (Pelin would be OK for me too - or Seril)

Bob: Come out the airport, down the ramp & right in front of you is the shuttle transfer desk, my bus was waiting for me & dropped me at Nevada Sue which is 2 mins walk for me. You must ring & confirm the return the day before you travel. Can confirm my shutle last night was trouble free, will add www.transferonly.com to my safe list, for now!

Braveheart...Transfers4u don't do one way transfers..you have to book a return unfortunately, then cancel or confirm the return trip a couple of days before you are due to travel. But at less than £15.00 it's still good value even if you only go one way.
Book on-line, print the voucher off then present it at the kiosk at the bottom of the slope at Dalaman airport. They guarantee you won't wait for more than 30mins for a transfer - so far true to word. They only drop off & pick up from hotels.
A really good service & well organized.

My wife only ever uses transferonly.com. It can be difficult booking on line , so she always makes her booking by phone.
Another important factor is that transferonly.com operate all year round, and not just in the season.
-
Can someone tell me, are these shuttle companies actually new competition for the traditional ones we all know? Sounds like a daft question - but what I mean is, are the vans branded Transfers4u or whatever, or not branded at all, or are they in fact local transfer companies already known to us working with these web based companies?
-
Quote from Transfers4u (Hotels4u.com) paperwork;
"Hotels4u.com are acting as a retail agent for Yesil Dalyan Travel - Transfers with whom your client's transfer is booked"
So yes, an old established business in Turkey, not a new one-affiliated with Thomas Cook in the UK.
-
Ah right, thanks. I was wondering where all these new companies had sprung up from. Knowing Turkey a bit as I do, had they been new kids on the Dalaman block it would be surprising that the existing transfer companies hadn't thrown their toys out of the pram.
-
We've used transferonly.com many times and always book family transfers too.
Really easy website, always prompt, in fact a little bit early.
Only confusion was knowing where to find them when you come out of the airport as we assumed they would be standing with name boards

We us A-B Transfers, very easy to book on line, get a printed voucher and have operating companies in nearly every country in the world. They have an office in Calis (near the Devlet Hospital) and you ring them to confirm your transfer back. Think they will only drop you at a hotel but easy for us as only 30 seconds from the Kaan. You are nearly always near a hotel here, so a 5min taxi from your drop off point is not a problem. Price usually £15 or less and last October had a sale and my friend got a transfer for £7 return!!!!

Can anyone suggest a hotel near to SOKAK 840. My apart is there and would like to use a shuttle company on my trip in July, but will need a nearby hotel to be dropped at. Thank you for your help and advice.
-
Hmmm not great hotel area that - 840 is in Akarca if that helps anyone - between the Korfez offices (opposite the Calis Market shop) and the sea but I can't think of any hotels near there so over to someone else for that part :)
There's a hotel nearish to the Opet Petrol station but I can't remember the name...Kilim Apartments perhaps?
-
Just to update this: Had a private car transfer back to the airport last night, 1 lady collected in Ovacick & me from Calis & straight to the airport, 2nd in the queue for check in before the buses arrived so extra leg room seats with no problem, all in all a perfect end to what could have been a sticky problem!

Samann, we generally ask for a local hotel, or nearby local landmark, as a drop off point for private addresses, so in your case you could put Korfez offices or Opet Petrol Station then just direct the driver (if he's amenable)to where you really want to be. Hope this helps!
-
Thank you, for your advice guys.
-
Supercabby who do you use again please for your shuttle, I am coming out end of July on a budget so cant afford to pay for a private transfer on my own. many thanks in advance :)

http://www.transferonly.com/ I used this company, A2B seem to be the cheapest but I had good service at a reasonable cost from them & the bit that swung it for me was the ability to call a standard landline uk number to book in the 1st place.

Hoppa.com are very cheap and reliable
