We have decided to upgrade our tv to a 36 - 40 inch flat screen model, possibly with built in free view and DVD player. Firstly is it possible to get such a thing, and secondly can anybody recommend the best place in Fethiye to buy one!. We would also need them to come and fit and connect everything up for us. Thank you!

Don't know if there's anything bigger out there now, but a couple of years ago, the largest TV with built in DVD was only a little larger than a portable. Got it at Beko on the back road, but checked out all the elecrtical shops & supermarkets first
-
Having just moved here I bought a 55in tv from Teknosa store next to the bus station. they were really helpful and set up everything for me. I am delighted!
-
Thanks! I've heard of teknosa...I will pop down there in April!
-
we bought a 40in from bekir and her had larger ones in the shop he also can get you any size you need
-
Also bought from Bekir at Eren Spot
-
Try prices at Gold had 47inch LD from there,

If you buy a largish tv with inbuilt DVD facility and this becomes faulty, it's a pain to take in to have it looked at. Better to buy a separate Blue Ray player, not too expensive and better picture and sound all round.

I have found that the best place for a TV has been the sideboard. I learnt a lot from my father about TV engineering during the early sixties. If adjustment for the set was required, you applied it with a swift clout to either the side or the top of said TV, depending if the image and lines were going up or down. I learnt well, knowing just how much clout and where to apply it to when the TV 'played up again' that I became responsible for all those adjustments during family viewing that father could retire from said adjustment duties and simply tell me to do it. This was of course the ealiest proto type of remote control for the TV as I could also change the channel too. Mind you there was only two of them. :)

+1 for Gold, they had the best prices, but it didn't stop me having a good wander around Teknosa who have a huge showroom with lots of TVs up and running.
-
Where abouts is Gold? Thanks
-
Gold is on the back road of the one way system. As you walk away from the sea front you pass HSBC etc on the left and staying on that side you will see Gold on the same side.

Didn't realise Teknosa did electrical goods like TVs
-
The Teknosa upstairs at the Otogar is massive and I like going in just to see the range of things they have TV's / Laptops / gadgets etc.

The big Migros in Fethiye often have good offers on T.V.'s. We bought a flat screen T.V. from them a couple of years ago and it was a very good price and a good T.V. too.
-
The big Migros seem to be doing a dwindling range of TVs, but Fethiye Kipa have a fair amount & often have offers
-
There are quite a few new electrical retailers in the area opposite the PTT in Fethiye, selling everything from phones to cameras to large flat screen tv's. Not sure if you can get them with integral DVD player and very much doubt that you will get one with freeview though! 8)

Decided the most important thing is a decent price and after service. Also somebody who will come out and set it all up for us and link it to our existing digiturk box. So I assume this will probably rule out th supermarket and I should prob look at either teknosa or eren spot.
-
In that case Bekir at Eren Spot is probably the best - apart from setting it up you can go back to him at any time and he will do his best to help you out - a thoroughly nice and decent chap!
PS not sure if this helps BUT the last time we went in Gill said "isn't he looking more handsome as he gets older?" - she has never once said that about ME!!!
-
But I bet she got a discount for whatever she purchased Ian, sounds like a intelligent Lady to me. ;D ;D
-
Lol - never thought of that - should have told her to say it louder !!!!

Not at all Sue. We have never bought a T.V. with the thought we have to buy it in a certain shop to have it tuned in. or fitted a dish on the roof. We used Ufuk which is just down from Eren Spot. They will come out and tune in for you for, they are not expensive either. I remember us having trouble with our first T.V. and Berkin from Eren Spot took us down to this shop and introduced us to them. I assume Berkin uses them often.
