Just seen this, maybe of interest to people wanting to hire a car while on holiday.

You can get your own licence details from this site https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number

You'll need your licence number, National Insurance number and postcode.

Cant see that being an issue here.They need to implement lots of other things before that one matters . Seat belts, mobile phone usage,and so on and so on .

Sorry, when sitting out in the sun typing, sometimes the screen is not easy to see.
Never, mind, sun, pool, wine for 5 weeks.  I will struggle on... :)
After a few glasses of the great wine we are finding, I may need a carer.   :)

The only place in the world that I have hired a car & been asked for the counterpart is the UK.  8)

We were asked for the paper part 10 year ago, when we hired a car from Fethiye.  We were also asked when we hired from the Airport at Dalaman.   When we hired in Rhodes, we were asked for the paper part.
