What time do they normally go live?

September's release was about 05:30 UK time. I was in Calis at the time so booking for next May was at 07:30 in Turkey.

Therefore it could be any time between 05:00 and 08:00 depending on the clock changes.

Personally I'm going to be awake around 05:30 then going back to bed.   :)

Already booked Turkey but looking at Faro. Hopefully some good deals. Ryanair not bad at £140 each from Liverpool but would prefer Easyjet at same price or near as damn it.

Have you checked Jet2 for Faro Stoop?

Have you checked Jet2 for Faro Stoop?

Yeah - far too costly when I checked. Ryanair about £100 cheaper all in for two of us. It’s the baggage and seats that let them down.
Title: Re: Easyjet Autumn 2018 Flights
Post by: stoop on November 22, 2017, 04:32:04 AM
Just checked Jet2 - £696 from Leeds including bags and seats to Faro. £378 with Ryanair or £276 from Liverpool.

Jet2 just don't do it for me any more. Far too costly.

...and I'm up early because Maggie said that idiot Martin Lewis told everyone to get up at 4am!!!!

Sorted - EDI to DLM Oct 2018 - around £800 cheaper (for 4 of us) than Jet2 Glasgow to DLM sameish dates.

Not as cheap this morning as other release mornings but happy enough   :)

Much the same experience booking LGW to DLM more than last time but still less than 10 years ago.

We used to think £240 each was good!!

Going back to bed now

The price went up £20 each by the time entered my visa no.

Well after a bit of waggling we booked.

Ryanair (who we didn't really want to fly with) were £280 with 20kg luggage and seats but crap flight times.

With easyjet we are coming home a few hours earlier (day before but very late so we don't lose much considering the flight out gets us there much earlier as well. And the Ryanair flight was early the next day anyway)

£253 all in with 15kg and seats.

Cushty   :)

Just booked up for late September/Early October from Manchester - £253 p.p with extra legroom seats. We will be foregoing our usual visit in July because of the cost.

£544 for both of us from Edinburgh.
Nowhere near as cheap as they usually are :(
Title: Re: Easyjet Autumn 2018 Flights
Post by: Scunner on November 22, 2017, 07:22:21 AM
Ours worked out to be £262 each from Edinburgh which is actually not too bad as it is Scottish school holiday time then. I had already decided that I would book Jet2 from Newcastle if this morning was too expensive so wasn't in a panic.

So £170 cheaper and 2 hours closer  :)

Possibly where you are but Manchester was as close to Scotland as Monarch ever operated.

The flight prices have certainly increased a lot from last year, we have booked but by the time you add leg room seats and luggage it works out quite expensive compared to September last year - considering we booked the September flights last year in June and not on a cold early morning in November ! The price went up £16 whilst we were paying.  New luggage rules a bit of a pain, 15 kg not enough but 23 kg too much.  What time did the flights actually come on line please ?

Just booked 2 X flights from Stansted in September, no cases but extra leg room for £183.00 each. Very happy with that, but sadly our friends flight from Gatwick increased by £50.00 whilst we was going back n forth asking if they wanted to come from Stansted with us. They seem to increase by the minute, so unfair on people who are unable to book straight away like us :(

Same thing happened to me as it did to Bewva. you book online at the agreed price and then just before you accept payment the system says - "Ooops your tickets price has just gone up by £x. Click Accept to continue".  You are probably going to accept rather than risk going through the booking process again so they got me for an extra tenner and Bewva for an extra £20. Does anyone else smell a scam?

15kg  too much for me; 23kg not enough for Hilary. Together, just about right.

Same story here. I went on at 6.30 when they first came live. (I tried at 5.30 and 6.00 but nothing coming up). My initial price was £357 which I proceeded with. As I got closer to Payment, the whole site crashed and went back to desktop. This happened twice. When I finally got through to enter credit card details the price had gone up to £535. Not happy, but heyho. We've had it good for a long time and we don't want another airline going bust do we. Just checked and the flights are now £790. Feel a bit better now     :)

I booked through the App on my phone in the end as the website kept crashing. Fortunately the prices stayed the same, like Chris I've just had another sneaky look and the same flight is now £220 more.

I think you can combine your allowance or increase the 23kg in 3kg increments (up to 32kg).

To be honest though the difference between 15 & 23 wasn't that much in price. We went lower as we are only going to Portugal for a couple of weeks and with the hand luggage we will survive (we already leave some items at the timeshare complex).

Why are these prices so high? I booked two returns from Stanstead to Bodrum a couple of weeks ago, with EasyJet, including two hold cases for a little over £300 for June/July. Seems a huge difference in price for two airports only 145 miles apart!  >:(

The difference between Sue's £323 and my £409 posted earlier was that she has hand baggage only and I have 23kg hold baggage each way. I've just rerun mine and it's £485 now!!

I set my alarm for 06.00am ! They never came on for me until 6.45am , they were going up by the minute, finally decided on dates just after 07.00am, we paid £251 for two return from Stansted, more expensive than our May trip, but still not a bad deal . Just looked at 15.00 and they are double the price, so grateful for what i paid now

Just had another sneaky look and I think the fares have dropped back a bit. I would advise anyone who thinks they were charged too much to check (and keep on checking) regularly as EasyJet will refund the difference should they reduce the fares. The refund is in the form of a voucher which is normally valid for 6 months from issue so you have to be careful with your timing.

Well our Faro flights have gone up about £80 since yesterday. We have friends thinking of coming out to stay with us for a week and I did tell them to book yesterday.

Happy at the price we paid which was cheaper than Ryanair and much better times.

Think EasyJet stopped refunding the difference in fares, even by vouchers sometime last year

Whoops just had a look through the website and it appears that George is correct.

As with most reasonable deals it was good whilst it lasted!!

Sorry about that everyone, I've not had to try that for a couple of years.

Dalaman does seem excessively expensive. Same week in October from Manchester:

Dalaman £319
Paphos £207

Cyprus being further than Dalaman too...

Too true!

Our flights to Portugal on the same dates in Sept/Oct next year were £253 for both of us with 15k each and std seats.

Ready?

Same deal to Dalaman -------£627

No wonder Portugal was much busier this year when we went.

Man - Bangkok same dates with Emirates - £957 which includes 32k, seats, meals and drinks and is at least twice as far.

We are getting shafted going to Turkey to be honest.

It is our twins 18th birthday and we always said it would be celebrated in Turkey.

But for that, I’d probably have gone for Cyprus.

In fact, Larnaca from Liverpool is even cheaper.

We’ve said it before but next year looks like a tough year for Turkey tourism.

Does anyone know what is behind the high cost of flights to Turkey? Im just curious to know if there is a reason for it, its all im seeing on a lot of Turkish groups on facebook, soo many people are saying unless they come down for the first time in "X" amount of years they will be going elsewhere in 2018... Just seems such a shame for the business's to possibly have to suffer another dire season next year for this reason... Someone told me years ago Dalaman charges a lot for landing fees and prices went up when the new airport was built but that was years ago now!

Availability of flights/competition mainly I would think.

Stoop points out how much cheaper flights to Faro are - he’s right but when you land you see why. Row after row of Ryanair planes - keeping the prices Jet2 etc can charge down.
