Lunch at my "house"
« on: January 31, 2007, 19:30:11 PM »
Some time ago I was asked to go and meet a new Client who turned out to be Peter De Savary.

Our first meeting, which was held in a kitchen, had been going for approximately 5 hours when he decided that we should eat. So he went off to shortly reappear with a hank of ham and some wine.

We were just about to start to eat when Mrs De Savary appeared. She immediately chastised her husband for expecting people to eat in the kitchen and asserting forcibly that "if she had guests in her house then they would only eat in the Dining Room. Chef was summoned and we were served soup and a main course (with wine of course).

I had the immense pleasure of sitting next to Mrs De Savary at lunch and she was the most charming of women.

These photos show what Mrs De Savary called her "house" - she genuinely thought of it as a family home first and foremost
