When we were there a few weeks back we saw some very official gentlemen walking up and down the prom. I was told they were checking that every table had a 'tab' on it - otherwise the owner would be find for tax evasion.

Seems they don't take kindly to friendly banter in Turkey. Rushie is a great guy who, charmingly, bores you to death. Also George from Serkul 1 manages to bring up his hair transplant every time we see him (he's had 2 now). I think he must be on commission from the surgeon.

Shame but I must admit on occasions we just want to walk along the prom without getting asked to sit down every 5 yards.

I used to dread the stroll along the prom because of the hassle, but over the years have accepted it as part of Calis life. It doesn't take much to be polite and friendly. I cringe when people totally ignore the "hasslers".

Stoop is luckier than most of us. If he understood Turkish he would know they are telling each other "Don't bother with that tight b*****d, he is on auto pilot to Oben Corner"

Mehmet and George hassling 'I dont believe it' what a load of rubbish. I personally quite enjoy a bit of banter and have never had any problems whilst walking along the front.  If l haven't been going to eat in a particular resturant the 'hasselers' have said have a good evening and enjoy my meal wherever I may be eating.
