Another Dalaman rip off
« on: April 07, 2008, 20:06:04 PM »
please note another rip off from Dalaman that we noticed we flew with Thomas cook and they have  now for some time been charging £6 a kilo extra for any luggage over the allowed 15 kilos Allowance, we see people getting £70 and £80 pound bills for being over weight last summer and the same last week, one guy questioned the scales and asked to see calabration certificates, which he was refused, he then walked along the counters putting his case on different scales and every one read differently which lead to all other people wanting there cases wieghed on the scales which showed the lowest reading. the thomas cook rep then had a riot on her hands as everyone over wanted to use the scales which read the lowest .
she in the end reluctantly agreed just how many people have been caught by this

we never see anyone at Gatwick get charged for excess weight on the way out just on the return at Dalaman Thomas Cook told me that Dalaman is the strictest Airport in the world for charging on excess weight

you can before you fly pay a bit extra to take your allowance up to 20k which is cheaper than the £6 a kilo they fine you

This flight was half empty  so the excuse of extra fuel that extra weight causes did not go down well with people its just another way of getting money from the poor old holiday makers im affraid
