People can make genuine mistakes. I've used that place many times and it's one of those that will let you off the "odds" rather than rounding them up.

He said he handed over 50 LIRA, and got 2 LIRA change instead of 45 LIRA

If you think that constitutes "rounding up", then you must be a person they very much look forward to seeing.

Sounds very odd to me, In my experience (not much) people that are on the fiddle, deal in small amounts, not massive which 45 lira would be instead of 3!

Are you sure you got the right Supermarket Mick, as the Halkin is not the one opposite Bims? The Halkin is about 250 metres further along, past the new Genpa and opposite the school.I agree with LisaS,every time I have been in they try to round up change rather than down. Also its the only place in the whole of the Fethiye area where I have been given a one kuros coin with my change! This is now going to go in mrs yabancis xmas pudding as a suprise and in order to help her out of the credit crunch.:-)
