Air Con Unit Service
« on: June 19, 2010, 07:12:44 AM »
Hi there, I was wondering if anybody could recommend somebody to come out and service our air con units.  Put one on last night and through the night it has started dripping water.  Just what we need now the weather is starting to heat up!

Thanks for any help with this.

Denise

There are loads of shops in Fethiye that will do that. Before you do I would try to find the leak. It may just be a joint that needs a bit of ppt tape and a spanner?

Is that the outside unit or the bit in your room?  Try Engin at Fethiye Property Services. :)

The leak is in the unit in our room, just beside the vents.

Thanks.

Nessie, it could be that the unit inside has frozen up, If it has been on cool for ages and the filters are blocked the coils sometimes get iced, once this happens the ice builds up prety quickly. Turning the air con off will thaw the ice, remove the filters and clean. This may solve you problem. its a prety easy job.

We had same problem. Guy came out blew up the drainage tube and poured water from a jug into the top of the unit. cleared the blockage and charged just 15 lira. got his number if you want it. 8)

Thanks to everybody for the replies. Got in touch with Engin from Fethiye Property Services so guy came out this morning and gave our filters a good clean out so now working perfectly!

Thanks again.

Now got another problem with our aircon unit, same one funnily enough!  Once it has been on for about 30 mins we are getting an error message - E4 appear on the unit.  If we shut it off and switch it on again it seems to clear the error but then after another 30 mins the message comes back again.

The unit was serviced at the start of the summer in 2008 but it is 6 years old this year.  How long a life span do the units have?  Before we bought the villa it was used as a holiday rental so I would imagine the aircon units have had a fair amount of usage unfortunately!

Any ideas?

Denise
