Yes you can get them over the counter. The last time we bought some they cost about 15TL for a week's supply.

we buy Amoxil 500mg 16 tablets - last year cost around 6ytl per course
we have found that a good and reasonably proced chemist (ecksane) is one on the Gunlukbasi Road. If you face Seckin restaurant it is the first one looking to the left of Seckin - about 20-30 metres away from Seckin.
If you write down the english name they check the Turkish name on a computer for you - i do not know if others have the same service but we have certainly found this useful

Can someone tell me please I have the Largopen (Amoksisilin) tablets here sound like the same ones Frank Stanley mentioned but mine say 1g on them would that be the equvilant to 500mg does anyone know, I have a bad chest infection and have just finished a course of English amoxisilin and whilst they have done some good it has not cleared up totally so I was going to carry on with my Turkish tablets just a bit unsure as to how many of them to take safely... many thanks as always  for any help   :)

Hi Karen, 1g is 1000mg so you only take one per day.  Hope this helps.  :)

check a conversion table.... 500mg is half of 1 gm
you need to check the strength of the medication you have taken before
Be very careful NOT to take TOO strong a dose   ;)

It is possible to cut the 1g tablets in half to make two 500mg tablets[- you could then take half in the morning and half at night.

That is what I have done Marrgie though I am only going to take 500 mg as 1000mg sounds an awful lot!!!  :)I dont ever remember being prescribed that amount in the UK  :D
