Be very careful  It is illegal to work in Turkey.. You are likely to get deported when some "well meaning" person dobs you in....

Oh if was only that easy - our family would be offering the services of carpenter, electrician, plumber and plasterer and all be living in the sunshine!

Why shouldn't he do a bit for fellow Brits? People make and sell pies and there are plenty of people doing pools and the like for a bit of cash. I'd wonder what sense a British electrician might make of some of the huge clumps of wires that can be found behind some of those blanking/access plates over there :D

I would keep it word of mouth though - there are plenty of people over there who want you to do well. Until you do   ;)

Exactly.. No adverts on FB advertising your services... And be prepared to work at Turkish prices in 100 degs. Heat.

Good luck with it but as suggested I would keep it low key.

Thing that strikes me though is that we all complain about foreigners coming over here and undercutting our workers/working for cash in hand, not paying their taxes, etc so don't be surprised if it upsets the locals.

That's what I like about Turkey. It doesn't matter how sh1t their tradesmen are, the government do all they can to stop foreigners taking over their jobs.  : :)

:D Very true. As I understand it a foreign national is not permitted to do a job that a local can bluff his way through.
