Pool re-tiling?
« on: February 01, 2015, 17:14:39 PM »
A few years ago a Turkish tiler called Ilhan de-grouted my pool using a large angle grinder and his inexperienced son.
Needless to say, the majority of tiles are chipped or scoured.
This problem creates a good area for Algae and is a devil to keep clear.
Unless anyone can tell me how to repair injured tiles, my only option is to get the pool fully re-tiled.
With this in mind, I am looking for someone who can do a proper job, not a cowboy or waiter in summer and tiler in winter.
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Hasan of Concept Pools which is on the corner of BMB and Yerguzlar Street, opposite Aydin Pide if you know the area. Hasan has looked after our pool since 2008, he installed some steps and regrouted the whole pool last year and did a first class job. No hesitation in recommending him to you.

If all the tiles are in good condition otherwise it may be worth researching the modern
coatings /resins / paints. You may even be able to do it yourself, it's fairly simple with
rollers and trays. The preparation is the important part. Cheaper and faster than tiling.

this is what I thought Kevin, if someone else has done it already, then they could possibly give me a few pointers.

Iv'e painted customers cast iron baths in the past and the resins came with a 5 year warranty. Never had a problem and
also painted tiles in bathrooms.Every pool i've been in America was painted /coated and most of the products online
seem to originate from the USA. Search online, find the manufacturers and Email them your queries. There are also
You tube video's showing how to carry out the work.   Good luck.

I take it Ilhan didn't do a warranty.!
