When we came back early May we couldnt be bothered / a@@@d with kerfuffle surrounding our gadgets, so what we did was made sure tablets were fully charged incase they needed to be switched on, wrapped them well put them in our hold luggage with the chargers put them through security and all was fine on retrieving at Gatwick   :)

If the device is in the hold why would, you the passenger want it to be on ?

The Authorites need to see eletronic devices switched on to check they are what they seem to be.  Nothing to do with us passengers, all to do with security.

No they don't Jacqui - only your phone at the gate!

We put everything else in the hold!

No Problem at front door.

Check in fine although 30min late opening.

Put all cases in hold including hand luggage.

Search at gate thorough but very quick if you get there early.

All in all very easy at this time of day. The airport is very quiet really.

Flight arrived on time so looking good ????
