Dolmus overcharging
« on: July 04, 2017, 09:33:45 AM »
Just a heads up for those using the Dolmus.  There is message on F.B today from a lady who was overcharged on a Kent Card.  Others also said they have been overcharged with these cards. The lady put a picture of the dolmus and it's number plate.  She has rung the Tourist Police on 170 and has complained.

Can't imagine the driver is at fault. Maybe the system has a glitch?

Happened to me a couple of times with the new Kent card.
You tell the driver where you are going and he has to press the relevant button on his terminal thingy.  If you put the card against the reader too quickly you get charged to the end of the line.  Happened when we went from Fethiye to Ovacik (3.30TL) and we got charged 4.40TL because I was too quick.  They don't seem to be able to do a refund, but although it is annoying it didn't change my life!
All part of the fun!

Lots of complaints after this message, people saying they are always overcharge using this card.  People are saying do not hand the card over first, say where you are going first as the drivers are just putting the cards through for a long journey.
There is quite a long thread about it on this Turkey forum.
