I've had 24 x 2hour lessons, It's hard work and very slow,
first thing to learn is the grammar and word order.

Hi Neisha. We met a woman in Finnans Bank talking to Ayse in fluent Turkish. We asked her how long it took her to become as fluent as that and she said 16 years!!!! Hope she was joking.... Anne. x

We attend  a Turkish class twice a week at a language school here and as Tinx says you have to learn the grammar first and that does not get any easier!. It is easy to learn a few phrases but as soon as they come back to you with something you don't know you are stumped. Our tutor has told us all along there is no easy fix and it will be a long hard slog. Think years to become fluent.  He admits Turkish is a difficult language to learn. Think how good it will feel when you can do it! :)

Been speaking, reading and writing for years and never took courses, had a tutor or got CD's. Just got as much exposure as possible and hung out all the time with Turkish friends. Cut yourself off from the english language totally and you will be surprised how quick you can learn a language.

I can recommed the Turkish lessons in Fethiye. We have friends living out there now who have joined the classes and they have found it very helpful. Anne. x
