Kim

We paid a rubbish tax last year, it's a sort of community charge for the bin men. It was so little money I can't remember but it did involve a bit of bureaucricy ( spell check broke )  having to go to the town hall and register ( our agent did the running round ) not aware of other taxes, if they exist, I have not paid them !

when declaring the value of your prop you are charged 3%tax,we were told not to declare the full value I.E i was told the 50k house we brought should be registered for 20k so the tax cost was £600 and not £1800 almost as it should have been.
its an apparent loop hole

Our agent has said to us if we rent our villa out through any bookings he gets for us we have to pay him £20 a day to cover cleaning and taxes. (if its family and friends £50 a week or £80 a fortnight for cleaning and linen change which is fair enough)   I thought we would pay any taxes ourselves in the U.K. He's saying we have to pay twice!!!!:(. What do others pay?

Don't think it's anywhere near that.
That seems a bit steep to me but we've not been over yet to sort out that end.

Windsor Property have packages for renters and non-renters. They are used by others on this forum who may be able to give you reliability reports - I believe they come recommended.

They charge £35.00 per clean + welcome pack.
£150.00 per year for opening and closing of your apartment/villa
and........
£50.00 for every rental that they get for you.
I'm sure there's better deals than that to be had.

I agree with Ron, we usually pay 30 mill TL (about £12) for cleaning etc, although we arrange it ourselves and not via an agent - maybe Ron does the same.
Brijen I think you may be well advised to change your agent ?.

Can someone elaborate more on the town hall registering please?

Does this apply to anywhere in Turkey or to just Calis?

Thanks
Linda
