Hi Everyone, its been along while since I was on here. We have just got back from spending a fabulous 5 weeks at our villa, weather and company was great, caught up with all our good friends.
I need some help. We have friends coming out to the villa on the 9th september and they have decided to hire a car and drive to Ovacik, having never been there before. They rang me today to ask for directions!!!!! We always get transfers, yes we know the way, sort of, put to put it in writing...No. I have tried several route planners and to be honest they are so confusing, I would get lost and i know where im going.....So can anybody help....does anyone have directions that they give out to guests that they are willing to share with me...or can anyone recommend a site, that will be easy to understand....Thanks

antonia1966,
Drive away from the airport (there is only 1 road out) through various roundabouts and lights until you get to the main road (D400 - about 7kms and turn right sign posted Antalya & Fethiye), keep going passing through the Gocek tunnel (toll - 3YTL), follow road and turn off to Fethiye (about 45mins) and there is also a brown tourist sign post for "Olu Deniz".
Stay on the same long road through Fethiye, passing a Carrefore supermarket you just follow the signs to "Olu Deniz" heading up hill (passing local shops - furniture/local stores etc etc) and it turn right at the lights beside the trampolines (T junction). Keep going up the steep hill (about 4kms) and the first village you come to will be Ovacik.

Although "village" and 2000 detached villas may cause confusion

if they hire the car from a local firm they will collect them from the airport and help them find the villa :)

When friends and family visit my villa apart from giving them clear and explicit written instructions I also give them numbered photos of every left and right turn all the way to the villa. Works every time, and even women drivers can understand it and arrive without a problem!!!

Be prepared for a detour just before entering the outskirts of Fethiye.
Where Citiwire advises you to turn off from the D400 towards Fethiye the road with the Fethiye / Olu Deniz sign is closed for repairs ( actually a major rebuild ).
You must stay on the road marked Antalya for a further two kilometres, then turn right at the roundabout/traffic lights. Continue in a straight line for 600 meters to the traffic lights, then turn left. You will be back on the original route. Continue in a straight line for some 3.7 km and you will come to a set of lights / roundabout signposted to Oludeniz ( straight on ). Then follow citiwires directions, passing Carrefour and so on to Ovacik.
