Always a better exchange rate in Turkey than the UK.

Slightly off topic but noticed that all the shops who previously offered exchange , no longer seem to do so. New exchange office looks like it may be regulated. Has there been a rule preventing the small shops from offering exchange now?

Be wary of the exchange offices in Hissy. Try to get to Dikmen in Fethiye or your own bank if u have an account here. I doubt if they will stop the b-----r in the shop on the way to Dikmens Toky. Carlos NEVER change money with the man in the dress shop in Fethiye!!

I was told that once an official/registered change office appears, all the shops that have been doing it as a sideline have to stop. Fines for continuing are very severe indeed.

Totally agree with Marggie - much better to exchange in Turkey.

Certainly, but also for the benefit of anyone visiting Turkey for the first time...NEVER change money on arrival at the airport, the rate is dire - wait till you get into your resort and whenever possible use a "proper" change shop or a bank.
