There are 6 direct flight options between either Glasgow and Edinburgh and Dalaman.
Watching the price trends I can report these 6 routes (for the dates we are looking at in October) have changed in the last week:
2 Up
3 Same
1 Down
No airline/tour op panic yet

No airline/tour op panic yet
No arguing with science!
-
Exactly!
-
THY are doing Edinburgh to Istanbul for £139 rtn and to Dalaman for £181 rtn on loads of dates just now.
Jitters, or desperate for foreign currency...?

what dates are you going scunner, and how old are the girls now?
-
I never post the dates :)

Nobody that is remotely sane bothers to travel in August school holidays (apart from me, because I have to) but prices seem to be marginally lower this year. Instead of £375 a head from BHX/EMA, they're more like £350 - if you can pick and choose your dates, of course.
I think that reflects lower fuel costs more than anything, rather than panic selling due to any perceived tourist risk.
What I didn't expect was availability at our preferred hotel which had pretty much gone by this time last year.
-
As I booked for Aug/ Sep with Thos cook the flights dropped £47 each!First time this has ever happened and first time the flights have been cheaper than the year before

Including easyjet nearly 20% down in a week...

Good! Not booked ours yet as not planning on going out until end September/October this year. They might be giving them away by then! ;D
-
I'm hoping they'll be paying me by the time we want to go :)
-
This week few changes, 4 of the 6 airlines/routes unchanged. Easyjet steadily getting cheaper each week. No cancellations from TC in Central Scotland (GLA) that I can see but Glasgow to Dalaman went UP a significant 10% in the last 7 days.

Booked our Oct flights last week from Manchester. £26.99 flying out and £120 return. Used my Voucher from EJ as my April flights had dropped by £75 since I booked them. Hey presto 2 return flights for £200.00. That's how you do it. ;)
-
Chris, did you get a voucher 'cause the price dropped after you booked?

Yes I booked them in October, but noticed they had dropped in January by £74.00.
Its well worth checking them from time to time.
-
Received a voucher from EasyJet for our May flight.
My early morning Monarch flight in July has been cancelled they've put me on the one an hour or so later.
Both flights Gatwick to Dalaman.

I didn't realise you could claim money back if the price of your flights went down, how do you go about this please?
-
Monarch flight on 15th Sept change from 2.40pm to 5.50am same day.Get extra time in the sun so don't mind too much :)

Colwyn put a post up last year about this. Put Easyjet Refund in the search bar. All info is there.
-
Just checked our end of May Jet2 flight from Glasgow.
The price has dropped by over £200 and no more than 50 seats seem to have been sold.
Never checked this in previous years so do not know if bookings are slow at this time. Hope so.
-
How do u find out please how many seats have been sold per flight? Thanks in advance :)
-
As far as I know you can only see how many seats have been prebooked. Just go through to the choose your seat part (you don't have to book any) and see which ones are already chosen.

Because of the many cancellations I went through that exact process yesterday Keith, for our easyJet flight LGW/DLM in August.
I know it's 5 months away and off course it's not an exact science..but, the total reserved was only ten! ( and two of those were ours) like many have said, the numbers are not looking good are they?
Dave.
-
Well, as a basic comparison I tried LGW to Tenerife in mid August on Easyjet - seats prebooked = 18
So you could say no big problem. Or you could take the Daily Mail view of that with "half as many seats are being prebooked to Turkey compared to the Canary Islands" ;)
-
I'll check our May booking later to see how Monarch are fairing.
-
32 including us two have booked seats from LB on 23/05/16. Could be worse I guess as I know many will have booked via agents for holidays in hotels. Many check in at airport as well.
-
Many check in at airport as well.
Wow who would have thought it :D
-
So funny!
Most airlines prefer you to check in on line (or you pay extra with some). Monarch don't - so many passengers still check in and get their seats allocated at the airport. So checking the seating plan is not that accurate.
-
Which is what we said weeks ago ;)
I know it's far from specific science and at best only a broad glimpse - but when I pretended I wanted to pre-book my seats (so I could see how many people already have), on a return flight that is 198 seats (33 rows x 6), just three have been pre-booked.
-
To check how many seats are available on a plane- if you put in 9 people and the booking process continues, then there could be plenty seats still available. If it declines 9, try 8. It may decline 8 also so try 7. So what I'm trying to say is you will be able to
tell only when there is 9 or less seats left on the plane.
-
That works Toky. Only 3 seats left on our outbound flight and it's gone up to £399 each / one way!!! Return flight dropped to around £35 though. Wonder if I can get a refund on just the return flight price and not pay more than we did for outbound??? ;D ;)
-
LBA/DLM 2nd May shows 41seats booked with Monarch so not unduly concerned about any possible cancellations as yet!!
-
You might make that 43 daveG. That sounds like our flight but we haven't booked direct with Monarch so haven't pre-booked seats! :)
-
Had our monarch flight from Luton in July cancelled last night, so the reduction continues! Have rebooked with Easyjet for the July visit.
-
All our flights this year are with EasyJet. TC was far too expensive when we looked, approx £50 retrurn :(
-
To see if my flight had any spare seats I tried to re-book my holiday (obviously not proceeding to payment page). No flights were available for my date of choice, so it looks like my flight will be full.
-

Or cancelled. ;)
-
Yes cancelled, they usually remove availability before contacting those who have booked. Sorry!
-
oh sh1t
-
my TC flight from manchester to dalaman, on the 12th JULY has been changed to the 13th, as my villa is booked out on the 20th, ill either loose a day or have to get a refund and rebook with easyjet or monarch, I'm just worried the next one i book will do the same nearer the time.
-
If you can go earlier ask them for an earlier date, they May not of offered it to you because a. it could be they have offered you the closest date or b.Because the earlier flights are more expensive and they want you to take the cheapest option, you could argue that's not your problem they have asked you to change your booking so they need to compromise, this often happens so if you can play them at their own game stand your ground or tell you've 'll go elsewhere.
