Post by: Jacqui Harvey on June 05, 2016, 21:53:08 PM
I note the Tirayaki Hotel has changed it name to the Blueberry Hotel!!!  I wonder why?
Is it under new ownership?

I noticed this too Jacqui we are staying here for a night soon as loved it last year, not sure what the reason is behind the name change!

Yes, we had a meal there when it first opened and we got a tour around the place.  It was lovely and the bedrooms were fab.
I am not too keen on the new name, though.   When you stay Karen, please let us know if it is under new management.

Thanks for that Mac,   The old owner was a Galatasaray fan and the stair rails where clear with sparkle in them and yellow and red colouring.  I wonder will that change too?.

Il report back Jacqui once we have stayed at Tiriayki, that stairway is / was fab, hope it is as nice as last year when we stayed...our booking last year included a free ' Turkish bath' or so we thought as in the tradational scrub etc took us a while to realise it was a d.i.y Turkish bath which for some reason once this fact dawned we thought it was hilarious.  :)

A wealthy business man from Istanbul has located to Calis and he has bought a "few" properties (including Tiryaki Hotel and former Tiryaki restaurant).
He has a yacht called Blueberry so he likes using that name.

I have no knowledge about a yacht sitting on a ship but Blueberry is quite an impressive boat (30+ metres).
It was in Fethiye last year but was in Istanbul during the winter. It came back about 2 months ago.

Had our night's stay here other night and it was as lovely maybe even better then last year, apart from the name change I would not have known it had changed hands...
We had a lovely room with pool access there was a complimentary lovely looking wrapped bowl of fruit in our room on arrival, they had a happy hour offer on beer or wine for 7tl a glass between 5 and 7pm.a meal deal of hamburger chips and a coke ( proper coke in a bottle which i love as reminds me of my childhood) only 10tl, a g and t was only 12 or 13 tl and during the evening our door knocked and we were brought some delicious warm chocolate cake....
Staff were all lovely and friendly and Jacqui the stairway is still the same!
Defo will be returning for a night here next year...  :)
Oh and the complimentary d.i.y hamam is still included in a night's stay...

Thanks for that Karen.  Sounds really good.  Strange there is never much about this place on Forums etc.,  I suspect it is because it is not near the beach.

Hi Sunlover we,booked thru booking.com and if my memory serves,me right it was about £35 for two with breakfast this was, with a,pool access room but we could have had the room with a,jacuzi bath for same price if we wanted the chap on reception who speaks, great English gave,us,the choice...
Yes I think it could well be because of the location..
