In Fethiye this am the change offices are offering 3.94tl / £
-
Yapi bank 4.06 and Finans bank 4.07 at the moment.
-
Think things will be seriously up and down for a bit, with the emphasis on the down. Finans now only offering 4.01.

Yes and a couple of years ago it was 2.20. If someone had of said 4.00 then no one would have believed it.

Thanks for updates those of you in Calis/Fethiye areas much appreciated, think will just bring money and exchange over there that will teach me not getting earlier this week lol
-
Don't worry, wait till you see how cheap it is to eat out, how cheap the clothes are and visit the Calis Market with a handful of lira and get a huge bag of fruit and veg and see how wonderful it tastes.

Yes, 4Tl to the pound is still a very good exchange rate compared to what we were getting some years ago and goes a long way. Hopefully things will settle down a bit over the next week or so and it could go up a bit again.
But then again, what do i know! : :) ;)

1st time I've known the exchange rate in Calais to be worse than back home.Calis fx office today 3.67

Sounds like Turkish financiers don't trust UK currency. A 'boot on the other foot' sort of experience. The £ is creeping back up and currently at 3.84TL - but still 10% down on three weeks ago.
-
I might move my sterling into a stable currency and was considering the Turkish lira.
-
I'll be following closely to see if moving the Campbell fortune makes a big difference to the £/TL exchange rate.

BoE has postponed dropping interest rates. This was announced at 12.07 and gave an immediate boost to the £ against USD, EUR, TRY, etc.
-
USD has gone over 3.08 to the lira which, from memory, is the highest level ever. Not surprising I suppose. Even the poor old £ has been going up.
