This is taken from their site

Does easyJet have an ATOL/ABTA number?

We do not have an ATOL or ABTA number.

ABTA numbers are for members of the Association of British Travel Agents and ATOL is a protection scheme that does not apply when you book directly with an airline.  If you book your flights or holiday via a travel agent or other third party ask them for their ABTA or ATOL numbers.

Yes - been using EJ (and other airlines) for years and never had an ATOL from them.

Toky is bang on.  You don't get ATOL protection when you book direct with an airline.  Just another reason to never travel without decent travel insurance.

I book direct with Monarch and they send a copy of their ATOL certificate?

They're not an airline that provides scheduled flights, they're a charter operator - but as a customer you could ask what's the difference!

They do both scheduled and charter flights.  Just trying to understand the difference as you say.
