I am particularly fond of Barbara Nadel's police novels featuring the Istanbul detective Cetin Ikmen. The last one I read (she has published one since then) is set in post-Gezi Istanbul and gives a strong flavour of fear and paranoia in the Erdogan's third term in high office with its attendant militant piety. Given that the novel also features modern cannibalism it is very dark read but I recommend to those who like crime fiction.
