Some miles west along the coast from Calis, in the village of Akyaka, they have reset their council bus fares. The Belidiye has decided they are too high, and have to come down! So, this year, journeys to the nearby town of Mugla are going to cost 40p for the 20 mile journey. This despite the fact that the buses have some of the snazziest paint jobs you have ever seen - an example of the "Nature" paintscheme below, there are several other ones.

Nice if we had that sort of fares structure in this country. I agree with your comments on the "paint job". It may be a point of interest to know that sort of thing is done with self adhesive printed vinyls and generally called 'vehicle wrapping'. The whole job could be applied in less than 2 hours excluding design time.
A few sign companies in the Fethiye area are now going in for this kind of thing although it's been widely available in the UK for some years.
Here's another typical example on an ice cream van.

Thanks Roy, I shall be able to sound wonderfully knowledgeable next time I visit.

You learn something every day Roy.
In my younger days I would have loved it if I could have had my vehicle wrapped. I did have a very nice paint job on my old spitfire but no wrapping around in those days.
I think some of the designs around today are wonderful - much better than plain boring paint.

Lean back! I said can I .....
Oh stop it.

The benefits of the process is that when the vehicle gets sold on the whole wrap can be peeled off by warming it up with a hairdrier !.

When i was younger i had my car wrapped.
The bloody council charged me £150 for the tree.
