cost of hire - private 'water taxi' for the day
« on: June 17, 2006, 20:07:49 PM »
Hi,
returning to Calis next week and bringing my youngest lad and his fiancee and would like to treat them to the fun of hiring a 'Taxi boat' for the day - fishing snorkling etc.
We had fun with friends doing this last year but booked it though Kaan (Kaan Hotel)

Does anyone have any idea how I do it myself and an idea of the costs this year?

TIA

Kevin

Hi Kevin, Most of the smaller boats in Fethiye are available for private hire. I think it costs about £100/120 for the day.
I don't know if they want a minimum number of passengers though.

hi kevin
were on about doing the same this year.
Just wander down and ask around then negociate your price. As fran says the prices are about £100,they normally want about 6 - 12 people which does not over crowd and is comfortable for yourselves

Just a bit of feedback, to help out anyone else, the cost at the boat co-operative is £10 per person (minimum 7 persons or £70) as discussed at the water taxi desk.

Interestingly enough we went diving with Dolphin Diving for around the same cost - and we had the boat to ourselves as no one else has booked that day.

Thats right Kevin.
We went with Jerry at the boat co-op,price includes 3 crew and a meal on board.Beer is 3 ytl for a 33cl bottle.
Only problem we had was the thunderstorm and had to come back early.
A great day out though.

Rob,
if it's any consolation, I was diving with my lad during that storm. An interesting experience I must admit. :D
Worse for the girls left on board I suspect though.
