Free Banking?
« on: April 12, 2004, 19:48:12 PM »
I have an account with Koc Bank and they make a monthly charge for the privilege of holding an account with them. OK, the charge is only around 50p to £1 per month but considering I dont have a debit card or any other facilities it does seem a cheek considering the interest they must make on deposits.

Do any of you know of any Turkish banks that offer free banking?

http://www.garantibank.com/index.html

Try this, it gives you everything you need in English. You can even play at transferring cash between your Lira and Sterling accounts to get your self into wheeler dealer mode.

Garanti Bank in Fethiye have plenty of English-speaking staff.   We also have internet access to our accounts.  They give you a phone number to set this up.   Once you get through, dial 9 and you are automatically connected to someone who speaks English.

I personally use the Finans Bank for personal and business accounts. They are brilliant, have english speaking staff, on line banking, and play with my money for me and have made me a few quid adn its all a free service. They also pay my bills for nothing as well.
