I would like to just give a bit of a warning about security of internet banking

my ex and I had a joint account with Finansbank, opened in Aug/Sept 05
we set up internet banking for this account on 13th August 2006

on 29.6.07 I went into Finansbank and had the money transferred into my own name at midday (as advised when it was discovered that my ex had padlocked our joint property in Calis so that I cannot gain access) and a new account was opened in my name only, book issued etc.

however at 8pm the same day,in th UK, my ex transferred some of the money from my sole account via internet banking to another bank and a few days later took the rest from a cash point in the UK

The first I knew of this was in March 08 when I set up internet banking to check my balance and discovered the account was empty.

Finansbank have checked all records and confirmed all the times and dates, and confirmed that I didnt set up internet banking for my sole account until March 08.

There is in theory no way someone should be able to access someone elses account online and move their money !

Interestingly my ex's profession is IT, but even so.....

Be very careful, internet banking isnt necessarily very safe

Hi, we use finansbank on line from the U K, very comprehensive service in clear english, can swap currencies on line between accounts for free, security is even more stringent than in UK, compulsory password changes, activations over mobile whilst on line, you call in on land line, log on, they call back on your registered mobile at same time to confirm. Impossible to have passwords read, on screen key pad moves around with each key press. Bit frustrating sometimes but appears very secure.
Regards, Steve.
