Vergi Dairesi (tax office)

Can anyone gicve me directions to the vergi dairesi in Fethiye please.

Hi Linda,
If you go past the new hospital,up to 1st roundabout,bear right at the lights the office is just in front of you. Go into the door on the right, up the stairs, past the 1st desk on the right and that is where you get your tax number. It takes about 2 mins assuming there is nobody waiting.

This is something that's got me totally confused.
Some people say you need the tax number to get the interest on your bank account some say they're not needed.
We're with Garanti and as I found this out after we were home couldn't ask.
Anyone out there know for sure?

If you look on Garanti's website, you will see that they state that a tax number is now compulsory for all banking transactions, although I must admit I get the impression that this varies from bank to bank!!

I trawled that site last night and couldn't see anything regarding this..... anyway, now for my next question
Will we lose any interest gained already by not having a tax number in place?
