Has anyone driven to Ankara

I would like to visit Ankara and wondered if anyone has driven it in their own vehicle and if so was the road ok and what route did you take? I understand it takes about five hours by road.
Also could you recommend a good place to stay in the city?

I've driven there a couple of times and the roads are fine. I used the Isparta, Afyon route.

I can't recommend anywhere to stay there though.

There are two options either via the mountains (the shortest) which takes about 3 hours or via the coastal road which takes around 4 hours, obviously depending on your average speed. Both routes are fine and make for a pleasant, scenic drive, although the mountain route can get snowbound in winter.

Thanks for information. Yes Crabbit I know the Antalya roads, you are right the scenery is lovely, road is good too. We went over the mountain road during the winter and it looked like a Christmas card scene. Had snowball fights with some friends.
