Places to visit with a wheelchair
« on: June 08, 2010, 14:13:00 PM »
I am bringing my 80 year old mum to Calis in a few weeks. Mum is in a wheelchair although she is able to walk short distances and can cope with some stairs. I am looking for suggestions for places to visit where transferring from the car is just a short walk or where a wheelchair can be used.

A few places that I would like to take her

Katranci Beach, Gemiler Beach

Yoruk Museum in Kargi, Sun Dial restaurant, a restaurant in Kaya Koy

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Most of the restaurants in Kaya are relatively wheelchair friendly. At those that have steps staff are always happy to help.

The promenade and mainstreet at Oludeniz are ideal for wheelchair users.

I wouldn't recommend Gemiler Beach a) because it's not wheelchair friendly and b) because you have to be careful about being ripped-off there.

The main eating area at The Yoruk Museum is on the first floor although there is also seating at ground-level that can be used and I'm sure that Enver, the owner, will go out of his way to accommodate you and your Mum. . The museum is on 2 levels.
