Koycegiz to Iztuzu beach
« on: January 18, 2011, 17:37:58 PM »
If you want to go on a different kind of boat trip you can hire a boat from the lakeside at Koycegiz and cross the lake, go through the reed beds, pass through Dalyan and visit Iztuzu beach. It is a quiet trip and if you like looking out for birds there are sometimes Kingfishers and other interesting birds to see. You pass the mud baths and can stop there if you want to for a mud bath.
It is not a trip where a lot happens but if you like just looking at nature is very enjoyable. No food or drink was supplied but our boatman did give us a complimentary apple!:DWe did pop in to a restaurant on the way to the beach and there are places to eat at Iztuzu beach itself in the summer season.
We did this trip a few years ago and I think it is still possible.

This is a view of the lake from our garden above Koycegiz. There are pleasant places to have a drink in the town itself right next to the lake.

Absolutely love Koycegiz......stunningly beautiful early on a summer morning with the light reflecting off the water.  Could sit for hours watching the kingfishers dart in and out.  Totally agree with you Daffodil, this is a beautiful place to visit. One of our favourite restaurants lies on the Iztuzu road, and you can sit at tables placed on stilts above the reed beds, watch the turtles and watersnakes swimming around and the ducks a'dabblin.....bliss [^][^]
