Houseboats...I wish!
Anyway, you spend a couple of hours in Gocek to do what you want, market, browse around the shops, reataurants (Kebab Hospital is very good I've been told ;))
On the way back to Fethiye they stop for you to have a swim.  
For people like me who get restless on day long boat trips, the Gocek trip is perfect.  
As far as I know the boats go on a Sunday only.

I agree with Scunner on one point at least: it's largely about expectation.

I had expected anywhere that has a marina and expensive real estate to be snooty and expensive to eat out. Gocek is neither snooty nor expensive in our experience. Bonus!

We usually spend a couple of hours there, have a meal and a stroll  then drive back to Calis. Wouldn't want to live there (even if we could afford it) and never spent more than two or three hours there but the drive there and back and the place itself are certainly worth the effort.
