The ministry of environment and urban planning announced new laws and regulations against noise pollution. They made the belediyes responsible to set up appropriate teams and obtain necessary noise measuring devices , to make inspections and deal with complaints.

From April 1st , 2010  Ölüdeniz Belediye is the responsible authority against noise pollution in this area.

The more complaints , the more they will be forced to do ( I hope ).

Well a group of us "oldies" are going tonight and personally I am looking forward to the boys dancing on the bars.. We have a meal in Hissy about every 2 weeks and enjoy our nights out there. We dont do "clubbing" but we do do enjoying ourselves once in a while.

We where over to Hissy one night a couple of weeks ago and had a meal and afterwards a walk around the town, but the noise was really overbearing from each place trying to outdo the nextdoor and we eventually had to wallk in the middle of the road to get away from all the bar and shop owners trying to get us into their places and being really pushy.  We gave up and were relieved to leave and go back to Calis.
We love Hissy during the day to shop, have lunch go to Booty, but in future will give the night time a miss.

I dont ever have a problem with pushy restaurant staff the odd ones ask you to try them but thats it NO is sufficient.
The noise is really over bearing though.

It seems the fewer visitors the pushier they get, which is understandable to a point because there are so many places vying for the same few punters, however what they don't seem to realise, with this pushiness and the booming racket, they are themselves partly responsable for the downturn! I suppose this Magaluf type horror might appeal to some but I rather think not to the majority! It doesn't help that most of these Turks are off comers and have been brain washed into believing that most 'Brits abroard' are beer swilling rebel rousers, it dosen't seem to occur to them that there are a vast number of people that prefer things toned down somewhat, and that they could have all these people in their establishments every day and night, if they hadn't shot themselves in the foot wayback when they let Hisar go wild!

It seems that there is a communications gap between the visitors and the owners of the facilities. If you are in the tourism business , you have to please the customers in order to earn money. One or two shop owners might not know how , but what are all the authorities then doing ? The tourism officials , belediye , tourism organisations and chambers of hoteliers , restaurants , bars and other businesses etc keep on complaining every year that their businesses are going worse year by year , but can't find proper solutions. The main reason is , that they try to solve the problems emotionally rather than logically , I think ; this is the turkish way of solving problems.

One thing also that I don't get about places like Hisaronu - there is no real scene for youngsters like Ibiza or similar places. You can play all the music you like at whatever volume you like but there is no young scene there really. If there are any groups of young men going on holiday to Hisaronu (or Olu Deniz, Calis etc) God help them - they are going to struggle to find similar groups of young ladies (for "socialising" etc) as the few you do see are totally smitten by the local barmen/waiters. I could be wrong but that is how I always saw it.

Better to turn the volume down and wake up to who they see walking past - as mentioned already by others.

Absolutely true Keith... The girls ( and they parade around in groups ) are only focussed on the turkish barstaff..I remember when our youngest son paid his first visit to Hisaronu in 2004 with his  mate.. They were only 23, and at night , being young red bloodied males.. they were trying to `mix` it with the english girls at the bars... After their first night , he said to me  the following morning  " Dad, trying to attract girls here is a waste of time, we gave up...there were  loads about, but all they do all night is sit at the bar and  gaze and focus on the bar staff... its a waste of time for us   :(
After their first night they gave up pursuing the girls... but they still had a fun week in H

We only ever go to The Tropical Bar on the edge of Hissy opposite the Peking Chinese. Have been going for 5 years and seen many of the same family members working there. Some move on to Marmaris and Olu Deniz but the music there is generally suited to the people who are in the bar. Modern and older stuff early evening and then boom boom music later when the bar gets enclosed. Lovely staff with same owners for years. Not pushy and generally good Kareoke singers after the dancing. Not everyones cup of tea but every 2 weeks it is ours.  Barrie cant see the point to Hissy. A resort that isnt a resort and miles to the beach but he tolerates our two weekly run up the hill.
