Beach choice
« on: July 12, 2012, 10:40:52 AM »
We Are determined this year to visit some local beaches (We always seem to go to same beaches like the Logoon - Patara Calis/koca calis ) but not sure where to go would need somewhere to eat lunch and have a few beers

After searching on here it seems Yanikar - GunLuklu- katranci are local (could be wrong )what order would you visit in & what is the distance ?  from Koca Calis,  Please

would it be a taxi or could we use the Dolmus from Ciftlik ?

thanks in advance for your Views

I took my guests to Katranci this week. It was busy with Turkish families and I found it  a really enjoyable atmosphere. I understand you can reach the bay by Dolmus - sorry, unsure as to how long it takes.

What is the charge for sunbeds and car park, food etc?

I always get Gunluklu and Katranci muddled up, is this the one where they were building a hotel?

Katranci has a camp site but no sign of hotel building. The charge for the car park was 13.5 lira.Sorry, not sure of other costs as we took a picnic and used one of the (free) platforms at the edge of the beach  ;)  :)

Sarigerme near Dalaman is a lovely beach Danky, not local but  it is worth hiring a car to get there,
There are clean toilets ,changing huts and some beach bars.Well worth a visit   8)

Agree, Sarigerme is definitely worth a visit.
Very reasonably priced food and drinks, snack bar with small but sufficient menu.

My favourite of all is Iztuzu Beach - Dalyan. Lovely fine sand, no development and you can walk out for ages and it still doesn't get deep. Perfect for young kids too.

I like Iztuzu - until the wind gets up, at which point I find the ensuing sandstorms most unpleasant :-\

The only problem for me is that the sand at Itzuzu and Sarigerme burns your feet at this time of year even with sandals on.... and the duck board walk ways are a problem for Barrie but I love those areas in June and September. It is quieter too.
