Does anyone know please if it is ok to fly with an e cigarette the ones that you put a bit of liquid in and they charge up via a sub port on a computer in your hand luggage I would hate to have it confiscated as has been very effective in helping me quit, thanks for any advice   :)

Is that because Customs haven't discovered it ?? Having said that, we actually saw more than one passenger actually using one of these stupid looking things in the passenger cabin !!

Two things to remember.

Firstly, they are banned in Turkey. It is possible (although unlikely) that you can have them confiscated. We have witnessed this first hand (last year) Having said that we also saw many many people using them quite openly without any problems at all.

Secondly, you need to (or should) disassemble the e-cig BEFORE you board the plane. An unassembled e-cig is usually ok to take on board but an assembled one is not allowed by almost all airlines. It's a case of a liquid and a battery together and this is not allowed.

This is just about the best blog I've found for travelling with e-cigs and it contains a list, country by country regarding where e-cigs are banned.

They are not actually banned in Turkey, although there seem to be plans to do so, as far as I know, they have not yet been implemented you can still legally buy the machines on line....
