Turkish Airlines flight via Istanbul
« on: May 18, 2015, 14:42:29 PM »
Hi, we are flying to Dalaman via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines in June and wondered what happens to the luggage at Istanbul? Do we have to pick it up anywhere or do they transfer it at Ataturk airport? Thanks for any information regarding this.
Also we have been told to pick up the luggage at Dalaman  International terminal on arrival, is that correct?

They will transfer it.  And yes, they will bus you from domestic to international arrivals at Dalaman.

Fabian, when you arrive at IST you will have to go through passport control (not transit) and the queue can be long even though though there are lots of desks open. You will not go through passport control at DLM as they will transfer you direct to the baggage hall to collect your bags. There are coffee shops etc in IST departures so not too bad for a couple hours. The Turkish airlines service is very good ( it was on February) compared to TC, Easyjet etc
