For anyone that likes to visit "heaps of rubble", but have seen all the usual sites, try Kibyra just outside of Golihisar. Though technically not open to visitors,so no entrance fees, I spent today with friends visiting the site, which currently comprises running track with seating for 10,000, amphiteatre, odeon, agora, & two sets of Roman baths. There is allegedly the largest mosaic in Turkey.

To get there, take the mountain road to Antalya & about halfway between Kemer & Korkuteli, take a LH turn towards Golihisar, following the brown signs.

We stayed at a Turkish friends home in a village just outside Golhlisar last year.. It didn't look as though anything had changed in years.. Still a traditionally run place with tractors and donkeys.. The women across the road were hand milking the cows and carrying huge churns to sell to the milkman at the end of the village.. The locals looked at us as though we were aliens... We visited the same place as Liz on the way home.. It is in a beautiful area... Gohlisar itself is very "quaint" but with lots of chemists.. We loved it up there.. The scenery is stunning...
