Explosion in Antalya
« on: October 25, 2016, 14:44:38 PM »
Explosion in the car park of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry earlier on today.

Press blackout in place but HDN published short article and CNN Turk have reported it.

Initial reports are that ten or so folks were injured and that it may have been a faulty LPG vehicle that caused it.  The ACCI offices are well away from the centre, and any areas tourists frequent.

The good old Daily Express though headlines "Antalya explosion: Huge 'car bomb' rocks British tourist hotspot in Turkey".

And The Express reporter Patrick Christys also wrote " The Mediterranean coastal town is regularly targeted by militant extremists, with a rocket striking a commercial facility in August followed by a suicide bomb attack which killed 50 people attending a wedding."
That took place in Gaziantep, only 800km or so from Antalya.
The good old Daily Express indeed.

Also in the HDN today is a US travel warning across Turkey for possible imminent terror attacks.

" US citizens should consider the need to travel to Turkey. "    :(
