Has anyone got info on current interest rates in Turkey? I know of someone who might have 100,000 euros to invest and they are looking for a good return.

Cheers

hi stoop,
i am with garanti bank and have a time deposit savings account currently 14% interest and that is before they take the tax. was 21% when i opened account 2 years ago. interest is calculated and added to savings every month on that account.
there may be better deals out there but i have not looked that hard.
best wishes

Akbank 15% for YTL.
4.75% for Sterling.
before tax

Minimum period 1 month. Then any other period upto 1 year.

Note; If, for example, you have a three month account then the interest is paid at the end of the three month period. If you move that money before the end of the specified period you lose ALL of the interest.

Is that monthly interest paid on a 12 month account or monthly payment on a monthly account?

We went out over xmas and opened a 30 day account at Fortis bank (used to be Dis until it was taken over by a Dutch/Belgian bank) they gave us 15.75% before tax. On the amount of money Stoop mentioned we would have got 17% before tax. We were introduced to Carli at the bank who spoke good English, he reckoned this time next year the interest rates could be down to about 10-12%.
