Interest rates?
« on: April 11, 2006, 09:41:05 AM »
Hello all, we're thinking of moving out permanently in September and trying to assess how much interest our modest savings may earn.

Does anyone have the latest interest and tax rates for Finansbank?

I don't want to put all my eggs in 1 basket. Although I have no problem with Finanbank (Ayse is worth her weight in gold)I would like to spread the risk and use a number of different banks.

Can you recommend any other banks and advise interest and tax rates?

We are coming over for 2 weeks in May, but have so much to do in such a short time any help would be appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,
SnS

Before tax, the tax is deducted at source.

Akbank is currently paying.
YTL 14% for 1 and 3 months
Sterling 4.5% for 1 month

ziraat bank, one of the most secure banks pay 13-14% dependant on how much you invest.

Finans bank has now been taken over by the National Bank of Greece, and will be known as "Asya Bank"

little correction Crabbit. Finans bank was taken over by the Greeks but is still called Finans bank and the name hasnt changed yet.
Asya finans was renamed Asya Bank which is a different company altogether.

I think Finans Bank interest rates vary dependant on the balance in the account. :)
