Have you tried a different battery in your phone ? New ones aren't usually expensive.

If you take out an unlocked phone, you'll still have to register it.

Had same problem with my mobile.  Bought a new battery and charger but no improvement.

Just buy an inexpensive mobile from the UK.  Take it into Turkcell or Avea along with your Passport, previous contract and Residency Permit (if applicable) and your old mobile.  You will then be able to retain your old SIM and number.

I did this on my return from the UK recently.

Good luck and as usual you will need plenty time and patience!

I don't think it will matter who bought the phone as they weren't interested when I showed receipt, they just handed it back.  What they will require is the contract issued when you last bought or registered a phone if you want to retain the same number.  I didn't have the contract with me when visiting the shop but they were able to get a copy from Turkcell Administration - this was what took the time!
