But the story is the injured dog was hit several times, it's friend came to drag it away by wrapping its paws round it and dragging it away. Rescue vehicles arrived and the dog lived (or not, depending on which version on the net you believe).
Sadly no one knows the fate of the rescuer and the council kills strays....
