Hi Bernie, welcome to the forum. I hope you find all the info you need. Some of the forum members own property in Uzumlu so they should be able to help.

Hi Bernie

Welcome to you.

Uzumlu is beautiful, peaceful and traditionally Turkish. I don't think there are any bars.

One day I might retire to Uzumlu, and if that's the sort of place you want, you can't do better in my opinion. But if you have kids, or have young persons in your friends and family who might want to use your villa for holidays they will be absolutely bored to death!

Hi Bernie,

We bought a new build villa in Calis with our friends when we visited last July.  The builder took us to Uzumlu to show us the finished properties.  He took us again the next day back to the Uzumlu villas for us to choose kitchen, bathroom, tiles etc.  On the way back to his office to draw up contracts, Ann asked if we could have a look at the two bedroom villa as she thought her brother in law may be interested.  As we stood in the house looking at the wonderful views, I said, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking".  She replied "Mmm, I think so".  We turned to our husbands and said "We want one of these as well, but while we're at it we may as well have the 3-bed."  Onat, our builder, took us to show us which one was still for sale and that was it. I have to say Pete and John didn't need much persuading.  Our agent informed us this weekend that it is completed and keys ready to be handed over.  I can't tell you how excited we are.  We all love Calis, but the house in Uzumlu is just as special to us.  Most of us are under a lot of pressure with our jobs etc and I can't imagine anywhere more relaxing and de-stresing than lazing by the pool in Uzumlu.  It is obviously beneficial to have a car but the dolmus runs from the village to Fethiye anyway.  Hope this has been of some help.

Jo

Hi Bernie.
To answer your questions - the villa is detached in its own grounds with pool.  There are just 3 villas in the middle of nowhere.  To be honest, I haven't a clue how to get there.  We paid £59000 plus £8000 for pool + £3450 for landscaping.  Haven't a clue what the furnishings will cost us.  If you link onto my profile you can contact me by e-mail and I will try and answer any more questions you may have.  I couldn't e-mail you because it wasn't in your contact details.

Hi Jo,

You might avoid getting shot by clicking on Profile (top right), logging in and putting your website in as your 'Homepage' - then suggest people take a look at Uzumlu from there!
